Adams grew up in St. Louis, Missouri with her mother, whom she considers as a hero, and her twin sister. At the age of 7, their family moved to Houston, Texas where she grew up. During her time in Houston, she started her career as a model for different companies across the state of Texas. Some of it includes Hawaiian Tropic and Vertical
Smiles. Before getting involved in professional wrestling, she also modeled for Elite Model Management.

She tried out for the 2006 WWE Diva Search but failed to make it to the top 8. Despite the setback, Adams became part of "development territory" workouts in Ohio Valley Wrestling. She worked with Maryse Ouellet who offered Adams a developmental contract. Adams gladly accepted and began training at the Deep South Wrestling (DSW). She began as a personal attendant for Daniel Rodimer. When Rodimer became a starter, Adams got no wrestler to work with. Instead, she devoted her time to becoming a full-fledged wrestler.

During her in-ring debut in December 2006, she lost to Angel Williams at a taping for DSW TV. She carried on working for DSW. In February, she became the Personal Assistant of Krissy Vaine, General Manager. One of her main duties was to ensure that Krissy was protected from Angel Williams. This triggered another face-off between Adams and Williams, which was facilitated by Vaine. On March 15, 2007, during the tapings for DSW TV, Adams was let go from her role following the alliance between Vaine and Williams.

All of the three ladies began pursuing him.

Later on, Kelly shifted gears to pursue Balls Mahoney, a shock to The Miz and her Exposé sisters. They have been spending time mocking Balls Mahoney’s look. This led her to a fight with Layla. The Miz, on the other hand, prevented her from pursuing Mahoney. He demanded that he have her contract and threatened to fire her if she did.
